She often uses drum patterns to strengthen the student's sense of rhythm. Dr. Randall uses various pop tunes to develop practical aural skills such as identifying chord progressions, playing back the melody by ear, etc.

Sight reading is also an integral part of her lessons.

Frequent performance opportunities are provided so that each student can gain confidence in performing in public.
