My daughter Amanda started her piano lessons with Mayumi after she finished her grade 10 exam in 2018. She hoped to learn playing piano for fun and for improvement.
Fortunately, Mayumi has been providing her all the support she has expected. She has made short term and long term plans with Amanda, given her feedbacks in a positive and timely way, and suggested online relevant resources to use at home.

Mayumi is a very kind and patient teacher. She is very understanding and is able to adjust the way she teaches according to the needs of the student.
The ability to adapt to the student is a very important thing as a teacher, and she has demonstrated this very well. For example, she is able to teach jazz piano/jazz styled music to children who have had no previous jazz experience, and have good outcomes seen by the mini concert at the senior centre.

Mayumi has helped my son develop a passion for music. Her style of teaching makes playing the piano very enjoyable, as she lets the student play a wide variety of musical styles.
On top of developing my son's piano skills, she has also made him a more confident person, by letting him perform frequently in public. My son now plays the piano for the church regularly and wouldn't be doing so if Mayumi hadn't built up his confidence.
